DAMLATAŞ CAVE
Damlataş Cave is 30 metres long and 15 metres high, covering an area of 200 m2. It has a marvellous vista, formed by numerous stalactites, stalagmites and columns.       

History and geology

  • The cave was formed from semi-crystallized limestone from the Permian period, and was shaped by thousands of years of sea erosion. 
  • The cave was discovered by accident in the 1940s, by men who were quarrying stone. 

 Key Facts

  • The cave is part of a small tourism complex, which includes a restaurant, shops and beach, about 35 minutes’ walk from Alanya Cruise Port and close to all of the facilities of Alanya.  
  • The 30 metre long and 15 metre high cave covers an area of 200 m².  
  • The conditions in the cave are extremely beneficial for asthma sufferers, because of its carbon dioxide gas, high humidity, 22ºC temperature and radioactive atmosphere.
  • Admission: a charge is made for admission to the cave.
